I always find myself turning to scripture in hard times, and I constantly search the Internet and see lists of scriptures for "when life gets hard" or "for the struggling heart," but why not look at scripture even when life is great and it feels like nothing could go wrong?

Here are seven scriptures for the joyful and happy-hearted.

1. Psalm 37:4 - "Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

This verse is a reminder in good times to always keep Christ at the center. When God is our first priority, everything else just seems to fall into place.

2. Psalm 100:4 - "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name."

When life is good and everything seems to be going well, remember to be thankful. Christ calls us to be thankful in everything we do. I often find myself saying "thank you" for even the simplest things.

3. Proverbs 19:21 - "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's plan that prevails."

When everything seems to be going the way it is supposed to, it can be hard to remember that we are not in control. God is. This verse reminds us that God's plan, not ours, will follow through, and why would we not want that?

4.Isaiah 6:8 - "Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying, 'Who shall I send? And who shall go for Us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me.'"

I don't know about you, but when I feel like I'm on top of the world, I feel like I can do anything! God calls us to go and spread His word in bad times and in good, so why keep all this positive energy to ourselves? Go out and share it!

5. Romans 15:13 - "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

This verse serves as another reminder that all good things come from God, and, if we simply trust Him, we will be overwhelmed by the joy and happiness that He provides.

6. John 15:11 - "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full."

Just another reminder that God gives us joy because we just can't say it too many times!

7. Proverbs 15:30 -" Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones."

This verse explains to us how important it is to share our joy and happiness with others. All it takes is a kind look or gesture, and you could turn someone's day around. Spread the love!

Christ calls us to live in the scriptures, and after diving into even just a few passages, it's not hard to see why! The Bible is our guidebook for life, and I know I'm always looking for some guidance. What better place to find it?

When life is good and you feel like you're on top of the world, always remember to recognize the Giver of your Joy.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
