7 Bible Verses For A Broken Heart

Heartbreak hurts. Like me, you've probably experienced this pain firsthand once or twice...or maybe three or four times...but who's counting? You'd think that after the first couple of times you would get used to it; however, each time it never fails to hurt worse and worse. After foolishly thinking I could mend a broken heart on my own, I finally came to my senses and turned my pain over to the Lord. As always, time and time again God proves how great He is. Here are a few verses God laid on my heart to help ease the pain of heartbreak:

"Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." -Matthew 11:28

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." -Psalm 34:18

"God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward, they will receive the Crown of Life that God has promised to those who love Him." -James 1:12

"Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but later you will understand.'" -John 13:7

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." -Psalm 147:3

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." -John 16:33

"The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock in Whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." -Psalm 18:2

Once you learn to cling to the cross in times of suffering and pain, the Lord will give you peace and open your eyes to new horizons you never thought possible. Remember, God has a good reason for why you're enduring these hard times. I can tell you from experience that He will strip you of things that are not glorifying to Him and replace them with things far more wonderful than you could have ever imagined on your own.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
