7 Best Things For Long Islanders To Do

Bet you haven't seen enough of these articles, am I right? Everyone from Long Island needs their signature article about what to do on Long Island. But I feel like every time I read this type of list, it says the same stuff as all the others: go to this beach, that cute little café, the best bagel place you know. I think it's time for a little variation. So here are the best, most unique things you can do on Long Island, along with instructions on how to do them.

1. Make your own bagels.

Sure, Long Island bagels are supposed to be the best, but you could do better. How do you make your own bagels, you may ask? Well, um -- you take a ring of dough and fry it. But in a way that doesn't make it into a doughnut.

2. Get your pizza from Pizza Hut.

This a great idea! In the place with some of the best pizza in the United States, get your pizza from Pizza Hut. This kind of gross chain restaurant (no offense, Pizza Hut) is definitely much better than your usual favorite pizza place.

3. Go to a party every night.

Every single night. Never stop. There are too many parties on the island to miss out on even one. And if on one fateful night you can't find one, throw one yourself.

4. Eat at a diner during the day.

Whoa! A diner? Before 1 a.m.? That's unheard of. But you're going to do it because you're cool and are going to have fun this summer.

5. Increase the size of your favorite beach.

Have you ever noticed that Smith Point seems to be getting smaller every year? You can increase your fun there by restoring the beach to its original size. This is a lot easier than you may think. All you have to do is steal some sand from a lesser beach and pile it on!

6. Sneak into a rich person's pool.

Do you live in the Hamptons? Of course you don't! But what's life without a little adventure? Grab a bunch of your friends and head out to the Hamptons for a day, and then jump in someone's pool. The owners won't mind, trust me.

7. Drive into the City.

Who needs the train? Drive into New York City. Keep tabs of all the people you hit; some are worth more points than others. There you go; have fun trying these things out!

Discalimer: Don't do these things, please. Make your own bagels if you want, but please don't do any of the rest, especially the Pizza Hut one.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
