Christmas break is approaching quickly, and you need to stay in the holiday spirit. And by holiday spirit, we know you mean binge watch Netflix until your eyeballs fall out. Before you dive into a new series, here are seven of the best Christmas movies produced before the 2000s that you may not have heard of, forgot existed, or still haven't seen yet.
1. I'll Be Home For Christmas (1998)
After being dropped off in the middle of the desert, Jonathan Taylor Thomas ventures across the country in order to get home by Christmas dinner.Yes, it's on Netflix! Hop on the nostalgia train, 10/10 would recommend.
2. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
A movie that captures the two best holidays? YEAH! Generally I complain about people who start celebrating Christmas before Thanksgiving, but this is the only exception.
3. A Christmas Story (1983)
Arguably the most iconic Christmas movie ever, your family will feel normal after watching A Christmas Story. Little Ralphie is dying for one present for Christmas, a Red Ryder Carbine Action 100-shot Range Model air rifle, but his mother detests. No, Ralphie, "you'll shoot your eye out."
4. Jingle All The Way (1996)
Two dedicated dads hunt down the best toy for their sons, Turbo-Man, while last minute Christmas shopping. If you like satire and making fun of Black Friday chaos, this is the movie for you.
5. Christmas Vacation (1989)
Although Vegas Vacation is the best of the National Lampoon's Family Vacation collection, they are all must sees. The Christmas edition is no exception.
6. Home Alone (1990)
I still don't really understand how Macaulay Culkin is left behind when his family takes a trip to Paris for the holidays. Regardless, havoc wreaks on the McAllister household when two burglars persistently break into the home.
7. It's A Wonderful Life (1946)
Arguably the other most iconic Christmas movie ever, you'll definitely cry. George is shown ways in which he has touched the lives of others and realizes that the community does in fact need him. Don't forget the tissues.
