Although 2016 is coming to close very near there is still time to recruit some friends and go on some winter adventures you’ll remember forever.

1. Holiday Lights

Some houses certainly know how to put on a holiday show. They pull out all the stops, hundreds of lights, large inflatable blow ups, and fun displays. Whether you go out with your family or your friends, driving around your town to find the best-decorated house will be a fun time.

2. Ice Skating

Whether you go with friends, family, a loved one, or maybe all of the above ice skating is a great way to go to fill up some of your time. Even if you can’t skate I wouldn’t rule out ice skating from your to-do list. It’s a great way to spend time with people while having fun! Watch out for all those pro little kid ice skaters who zig in and out of traffic doing circles around everyone! Plus, you never fail to have that one pro figure skater on the ice who has no show everyone up, it’s some great entertainment,

3. Play in the Snow

Find your inner kid and relive all your fun winter memories. Gather your friends and family and go out and enjoy the snow. Whether that is building a snowman, having a snowball fight, building a snow fort, or making a snow angel.

4. Go Sledding

Sledding is a great thrill activity to do with anyone. As a kid, finding a huge hill and racing down it with all your friends was a definitely must during winter. However, you are never too old to bring out that old sled and find a nice hill near you!

5. Have a Movie Marathon

Bored at home with nothing to do? I would highly recommend getting yourself a nice cup of hot cocoa, blankets, and hanging out on the couch having a movie marathon. Whether you are in the mood for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or some classic Holiday Movie. If you’re wishing to go down the holiday path TV stations like The Hallmark Channel or Freeform play nonstop holiday movies during the holiday season,

6. Make Cookies

With hundreds of recipes online that pretty much all include the same 10 ingredients you could spend days just making cookies. These holiday treats are great to eat and great to make. If you’re looking for a great bonding activity to do in the home with friends or family making cookies is for sure a front runner!

7. Go to New York City

Last, but not least, NYC is a great play to be during the holiday season. With sales in almost every store, magnificent light displays, a large Christmas tree, or ice skating in Rockefeller Center. There are so many things to do in New York City during this time of the year and there will never be a dull moment!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
