I am one that tries to see the best in each and every day. I love to enjoy the little things in life. Over the years, I've begun to see that little things others take for granted, are the exact things that will put huge smiles on others.

1. Sunrises

2. Sunsets

3. Random text messages; whether it just be a hello from an old friend, or good news.

4. Seeing people with smiles on their faces

5. Homemade food

6. Seeing improvement on whatever you've been working on

7. Nature walks

8. DOGS

9. And any other cute animal

10. A freshly made bed

11. Slushies

12. Shaving and not missing a spot

13. Getting a shift covered

14. Eating at your favorite restaurant

15. Mac & cheese

16. Roller Coasters

17. Freshly done nails

18. Seeing people voluntarily helping others

19. Bonfires

20. Long, meaningful hugs

21. Figuring out the name of a song you couldn't figure out

22. 7 for $27

23. Seeing the leafs changing colors

24. Seeing others still pulling chairs out for their dates

25. Ice cream

26. Babies laughing

27. Summer

28. Seeing your parents happy

29. New clothes

30. But also the clothes you've had for years, wear often, and is still in pretty good condition

31. Having awesome friends

32. Meaningful tattoos

33. Sales at your favorite stores

34. Finding the perfect outfit

35. Watching movies on a rainy day

36. When a favorite band/artist drops a new single

37. Finding a new Netflix series to binge watch

38. People who reply fast

39. Finding new music

40. Freshly bloomed flowers

41. No clouds in the sky

42. But also, the days when the clouds are so amazing and you're able to see different shapes, animals, or anything your imagination comes up with

43. The top of freshly opened peanut butter

44. Watching, or playing sports

45. A car with good bass

46. Comfy blankets (yes, I said comfy)

47. Meals eaten with the entire family

48. Celebrations

49. Birthday cakes

50. Finding a good book

51. Getting a good grade, or compliment, on an assignment

52. Thinking of a memory that makes you smile

53. Having deep, meaningful conversations

54. Finding a good place to hike, or even just sit down

55. The stars at night

56. Snapchat filters

57. Clothes right out of the dryer

58. Getting a job

59. And with that being said, getting a paycheck

60. Figuring out the perfect background

61. Having a smile on your face, no matter what's going on.


While writing this, I couldn't stop typing. I just continuously kept thinking of things that made me happy. It's amazing how the little things in life can make me the happiest. I hope that people get to view life in the way I do, at least some day. Although we all get upset, the best way to live life is to see the best in every situation and look at the happy side of things. Here are 61 things that make me happy, and I hope you are able to think of other things that make YOU happy.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself?
