Oh My Disney

Do you ever look at your significant other and realize that neither of you have any ideas for what you should do for your date night? I know I do and it drives us crazy because we always end up doing the same thing like getting dinner or seeing a movie. So, in honor of Valentine's Day, I thought I would share some ideas! Some are tried and true, some new and adventurous, and others may be a bit unorthodox. Next time you're in a pickle and can't decide on what date night should be, take a glance at this list and maybe you'll have better luck.

Note: I didn't come up with these all on my own... I have Pinterest to thank for about half this list.

1. Karaoke!

2. Watch a foreign film and try to guess the plot or make up your own!

3. Make a mixtape/playlist together. You could make one for each other and then share, too!

4. Have a movie night at home, popcorn and everything!

5. Buy the biggest puzzle you can find at the thrift store and see how much you can do in a couple hours!

6. Make a scavenger hunt. You could make one together or make separate ones and meet up after you've finished!

7. Go to the park/playground and act like kids again!

8. Find a random campus event and see what it's about!

9. Paint pottery/take a pottery class!

10. Go out to a movie at the theater!

11. Brunch, because who doesn't love brunch?!

12. Do crosswords together! Or Sudoku or word searches if crosswords aren't your thing.

13. Visit an art gallery!

14. Take a brewery tour or go to a wine tasting!

15. Do a food crawl! Get each course at a different restaurant.

16. Make homemade ice cream sundaes!

17. Go to the beach!

18. Go rock climbing!

19. Give each other massages!

20. Take a drive... wherever!

21. Raid the fridge and pantry and have your own "Chopped" competition!

22. Go bowling!

23. Have a paint night. Get a canvas and some paint and go crazy!

24. Play games! Board games, cards, video games, whatever!

25. Teach each other a skill!

26. Go shopping and pick an outfit out for the other person!

27. Browse a bookstore! Leave small, kind notes for future readers.

28. Walk through a nature reserve!

29. Recreate your first date!

30. Pack a picnic! Eat it too, don't just pack it, it's more fun I promise.

31. Go paintballing or to laser tag!

32. Double date!

33. Have a photoshoot!

34. Go-Karting!

35. If you have one nearby, go to a trampoline park!

36. People watch and write backstories for the people you see.

37. Try a restaurant or dish you've never had!

38. Stargaze!

39. Build a fort out of blankets and pillows and binge watch TV!

40. Play at the arcade!

41. Geocache!

42. See a play or a musical!

43. Have a library day - find a book, then find a corner and read!

44. Watch the sunrise, then make breakfast together!

45. Go ice skating!

46. Find a drive-in movie theatre and see whatever they're showing!

47. Go to the range!

48. Take a dance class!

49. Try making fondue!

50. Go to the zoo!

51. Put googly eyes in random places around town!

52. In-state roadtrip!

53. Cook a meal together!

54. Do an open mic. If performing isn't your thing, just go see one!

55. Go mini-golfing!

56. See a sporting event!

57. Prank one of your friends!

58. Make your own pizza!

59. Chalk the town with nice messages!

60. Grab coffee!

Okay, now that you've got the ideas it's time to make a decision! Good luck with that one though; if anything is more difficult than coming up with date ideas, it's deciding on one! Happy Valentine's Day, everybody!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
