This summer I was extremely excited for this year's season of "Bachelor In Paradise". It is by far my favorite Bachelor franchise show and in my opinion is one of the more successful shows, seeing how in the last three seasons there have been two couples that have gotten married, which can't be said about the last few seasons of "The Bachelor" or "Bachelorette". Therefore, my expectations for this season were very high. However, I was disappointed with the season from the very beginning. This season was an absolute mess and made me believe in anything but love. Here are the 6 ways this season of "Bachelor In Paradise" proved love doesn't exist.
1. Only Two Couples Stayed Together
While most Bachelor Nation couples don't stay together at the end of BIP, there's usually at least a few couples that stay together and try to make it work. This season there were only two couples that came out at the end everyone else broke up. This honestly just makes me question if love doesn't exist or if anyone that went on this show genuinely wanted a relationship?
2. Love Triangles
If I could sum up this season in two words it would be love triangles. No one wanted to commit to just one person and it just ruined my outlook on love.
Ok, I'm single, I totally get going on a few dates until you figure out which person you really like. But, come on!!!
3. People Used People to Get Roses
I think this one is very obvious. One week someone would be chasing after someone because they'd be at risk of going home and the next week the couple is breaking up or the person decides to pursue something with someone else. Everyone was so focused on just getting a rose it felt like they weren't focused on what they were there for: to find love. Love isn't a game but this season the cast clearly missed that memo.
4. Some People Never Even Got to Go On A Date
This season there were plenty of people who didn't even get to go on a date. This was the case for mostly the guys. For example Ben Z the super hot dog dad never got asked out. I mean come on?? He was one of the hottest guys on the show and showed that he has a heart compared to some of the other guys on the show. I think if the girls would have given him a chance he could have found something really special. But it seemed like no one really wanted to give anyone a chance and that's the first step in finding love!
5. Half the Guys Seemed to be there for the Boys
From the very first episode, it was clear we were going to see more bromances than romances. If the guys cared about getting to know the girls as much as they cared about their bros I think there would have been more couples at the end.
6. People Used Paradise as an Excuse For Their Bad Behavior
Anytime a cast member did something that showed they weren't a good partner or hurt someone they would always say, "Well that's what happens in paradise." This is just dumb. Being in paradise doesn't mean you can all of the sudden be a player or steal your friend's guy and just get away with it because you're on a TV show. Excuses don't work in real life dating and they don't work for TV dating. No wonder these people are single, they can't own up to their behavior and admit when they're wrong.
