Now that you have ample amount of free time throughout this summer break, you're probably wondering what you can do with it. Sure, you can go hang out with friends and family, or just spend time by yourself. However, I have some ideas to help you get through the summer.
1) Work
Use this summer to replenish your bank account to use during the school year. Or maybe you're looking to treat yourself, and you need the extra cash. Finding a seasonal job might be harder to do, but showing proper work ethic will probably help earn you a foot in the door. Who knows, the place you might begin working for can land you a reoccurring job for each college break. This will help you keep an income coming in!
2) Book Challenge
Instead of living in your boring reality, immerse yourself into a new one. Here's an article from BookRiot about many different Book Challenges that you can take apart in. If you're thinking about reading more or trying to make books a part of your life, this is definitely something you should consider doing.
3) Roadtrip
Find some friends, or even just go by yourself, and plan out a road trip! Take a look at a state map and plan on going to cities that you've never been to. You can even go farther out and make your trip go through multiple states. If you're looking for things to do along the way, open up Instagram and search the location you'll be in. This will show you what others have done around the area.
4) Take a Vacation
Again, grab some friends and go somewhere. Take a trip, whether it's an hour away from home or 5 hours by plane. Go somewhere and spend a few days out and about! Use websites like Groupon or Hipmunk to find deals on travel and vacation packages You could also go camping and save some money as well.
5) Learn a new skill or hobby
Sure, summer isn't typically for learning new things, but this is the perfect time for you to learn a new skill or hobby. Instead of having to learn a skill that your college classes require you to, you can learn things that you want to learn. Using this time to learn what you want to learn can help you progress in your own personal happiness, or can even help your career depending on what you plan on learning about.
6) Volunteer
Take time out of the day to help others out. Whether you want to help out at a senior citizen home, or help out at your local animal shelter, many organizations are always looking for volunteers to help them out. Don't be afraid to break out of your comfort zone and give back to your community.
