With the fall season finally in gear and Thanksgiving break just around the corner, it's about time we prepare for the onslaught of entertainment being hurled out this year. There seems to be a lot in store so far, with a little something for all movie fans!

6. Moana

Though there's been a lot of controversial commentary regarding this movie, I must admit I'm rather excited to see this come out. There aren't too many animated movies covering the identity of Pacific Islanders, and with Ron Clements and John Musker behind production (also responsible for films including "The Little Mermaid" and "The Princess and the Frog"), I'm sure that "Moana" will be a pleasant treat this Thanksgiving!

5. Passengers

Anytime Jennifer Lawrence is in a movie, you know it's worth the watch! Along with huge names such as Keanu Reeves and Chris Pratt, this sci-fi romance covers the love story of Aurora (Lawrence) and Jim (Pratt) as they wake from hyper-sleep 90 years earlier than intended, as their spaceship encounters a malfunction. This film will be coming out in December.

4. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

As a J.K Rowling fan, I must admit that I am absolutely thrilled to see another one of her works out on the big screen! Not only is it a J.K Rowling piece, but it features actors including Colin Farrell and Eddie Redmayne, both of which are amazingly talented performers. After seeing Redmayne in "The Danish Girl", I've been dying for more, and I'm stoked to see what director David Yates has prepared, as he has some strong history with J.K Rowling's "Harry Potter" franchise (directed the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth "Harry Potter" films). This movie is released November 18th.

3. Doctor Strange

Starring actors such as Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, the rising face to film Benedict Cumberbatch, there isn't anything that could keep me from running into the theater on November 4th with my "Sherlock" fan gear. Not only that, but it's the next on the list for the ongoing storm of Marvel movies, and my geek-side simply can't contain itself enough to wait it out. Thankfully, the movie comes out on a Friday!

2. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Now it may be a while until the final installment of the Resident Evil movies actually comes out (January 27th), but ever since I saw the trailer release in August, I've been eagerly awaiting the day that I see Milla Jovovich as Alice for the last time. The movies may not have been perfect, but they are exactly the type that ar wonderful for a group get-together. Even the trailer was a thrill to watch, which is why I am especially ecstatic to race to the premieres.

1. Underworld: Blood Wars

I have been waiting this since the last installment of Underworld for this moment. If there are two movie franchises that are worth the watch no matter what, it will be Resident Evil and Underworld. Kate Beckinsale looks stunning as Selene, and the trailer had me squealing in excitement. I've been obsessed with the storyline, and hearing of a new Underworld movie was like music to my ears. The release date is January 6th.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
