You know the type of movie that sends every girl into a swooning frenzy, the type of movie that has us base every guy we have dated, will date or never date to the highest standard — that type of movie is known as the infamous "rom-com," shortened from the traditional romantic comedy. We all know the classic romantic comedies like "When Harry Met Sally" or "Clueless," however there are plenty underrated "rom-coms" that deserve some TLC.
1. 'Something Borrowed'
Who doesn't love John Krasinski? Come on, he warmed our hearts with the love story of Jim and Pam on "The Office," and equally achieves that in "Something Borrowed." Based on the popular Emily Giffin book, this romantic comedy has you laughing, crying and calling your best friend when it is over.
2. 'The One I Love'
For all of you "Mad Men" fans out there, Elisabeth Moss (Peggy) shines in this unsung romantic comedy. A marriage counselor sends a couple with a crumbling marriage (Elisabeth Moss, Mark Duplass) on a weekend getaway to repair their relationship. What follows in the movie is anything less fun and hilarious moments, one after another.
3. 'Never Been Kissed'
Drew Barrymore shines in this romantic comedy based on the "nerd that once was in high school." Her infectious personality, bubbly self-confidence and countless ridiculous outfits circa 2002 will have you cheering for "Josie Grossie" every step of the way.
4. 'She's The Man'
This romantic comedy based on Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" is one of the funniest romantic comedies to come out of the modern era of romantic comedies. The quotable movie, hilarious story line and the ever-funny Amanda Bynes (before she went a little crazy) will have you watching this movie over and over again.
5. 'Celeste and Jesse Forever'
It may come off as an "anti-rom-com," but underneath the talented comedic cast, this movie shows what real love, real couples and real feelings look like. It shows that love presents itself in different ways, and even the longest love doesn't always last.
6. 'Stuck In Love'
Kristen Bell, Greg Kinnear, Lily Collins, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman and Nat Wolff ... who could ask for a better cast? This incredibly adorable movie about first loves and the opportunity for second chances lets us all know that love is a precious thing. This indie romance film is sure to warm your heart through the journeys of love for each character.
