6 Types Of Walkers

Look for these types as you go walking somewhere next time...

6 Types Of Walkers

While walking to work each morning I notice the people walking around me, and have picked up on some types of walkers I pass on a regular basis. So next time you are walking on campus, take a look around and see if you recognize any of these people.

The Stopper

The Stopper is a more annoying type of walker to walk with because they constantly are stopping to look at something, check their phone, or just cause problems. While these types are fun to watch from afar, if you are joining the Stopper on an outing, they become the most frustrating person in the world. It also takes this person (and those accompanying them) twice as long to get somewhere.

The Wanderer

The Wanderer, while similar to the Stopper, does not stop, but instead cannot seem to walk in a straight line. They like to make sure their feet touch every section of the sidewalk. This is the person who you are walking behind and want to scream, “PICK A SIDE,” because every time you think you can pass them, they step in front of you. The Wanderer is also not spatially aware of anyone around them, which makes for a fun time when walking near this type.

The Slow-walker

The Slow-walker is that friend who leaves for class 20 minutes before everyone else and still does not get there before you. This person is the worst to walk with somewhere, because, unlike the Stopper, no amount of berating this person will make them walk faster, because they are physically unable to.

The Eager Beaver

The Eager Beaver is the fast-walker type. They are the person who everyone is trying to keep up with when going somewhere, but no one can. This type does not have to be tall either, just magically very fast and loves getting to places quickly. They generally do not get along with the Slow-walker and are easily frustrated with the Stopper.

The Lost Soul

The Lost Soul is the type who always has their GPS going, but can never find where they are going. This time is constantly paranoid that they are going the wrong way, which makes them late for most events. This type tends to also be the Slow-walker, because they are constantly waiting for their phone to load. This is the friend who you never want to ask directions and the friend who is constantly stopping to ask directions.

The Tour Guide

The Tour Guide is the type who is constantly giving whoever is walking with them facts about where they are walking. It does not matter where this type is from, they somehow know a little bit about everywhere. They are full of fun facts about the places you walk. The Tour Guide gets along with almost all the Walkers, but especially the Stopper.

While these are exaggerated types, at some point we all are the Stopper or the Tour Guide, or the Lost Soul. So next time you are walking to class or need a laugh, look around at the people walking around you -- maybe you will find some of these among you.

You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
