The 6 Different Types Of Pizza-Eaters

There's nothing better than a hot slice of pizza. How do you eat yours?

Pizza is an iconic dish that is known to bring groups of people together, regardless of their age. As we all love our pizza dearly, what we often don't notice is how those around us choose to go about eating it.

The different techniques are each admirable in their own way, which can you identify with?

1. “The Grease Dabber”

There is a multitude of opinions about whether this is necessary or not. On the one hand, you’ve already agreed to eat the pizza— you’re completely aware of its lack of nutritional value, why try to alter it in order to make it less overwhelmingly unhealthy? On the other hand, many people dab the grease off of their pizza to ensure a less messy encounter with their slice, and this may be a smart move in order to protect your clothes.

2. “The Cheese Remover”

This is an act I may never understand. The cheese is the cherry on top of the cake in relation to pizza’s normal appearance. If you remove the cheese, you may as well just be eating bread with tomato sauce, which isn’t nearly as exciting. Unless there are allergenic reasons as to why you’ve chosen to detach the cheese from your slice, I’d suggest just keeping it on.

3. “Fork and Knife”

The glory of holding a piece of pizza in your hands is something I think is an irreplaceable experience. However, if your pizza is a deep-dish slice, a fork and knife may be necessary in order to eat it enjoyably.

4. “Eats The Crust First”

Do these people even exist? Who in their right mind has the patience to eat around and avoid the cheesy goodness?

5. “Fold in Half and Bolt”

When in a rush, an oversized slice may only find its way into your mouth if compressed in size. Given the fast-pace consumption as the goal when choosing to fold your slice in half, this tactic is commonly used among New Yorkers who are constantly in a rush and may only have a certain amount of time to eat before they must be at their next responsibility.

6. “Leaves the Crust Behind”

If you’re concerned with the amount of carbs your consuming, leaving this tiny sliver of bread probably won’t benefit you in any great capacity. Eating the crust, although the last component, is a very crucial step when given the opportunity to eat something as beautiful as a slice of pizza. The experience just isn’t the same when you choose to avoid the crust. No questions asked.

When it comes to Bloomington-Normal, there are many outstanding factors that any Illinois State student can say are unique to our college town (and maybe others too). Proud or not, we Redbirds know all the ins and outs of Blono.

1. The wait for Buffalo Wild Wings is always going to be long on Thursday nights.

As hard as we try, it's nearly impossible to resist the 69-cent wings on a college student budget. Plus, they are always delicious!
