6 Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Than Boys

If there's one thing girls love more than boys, it's cute dogs. Something about their adorableness just makes us all go wild and want to take in every dog we see. When boys are usually out breaking hearts and playing games, dogs are at home, waiting to give you love and waiting for you to give them belly rubs. It has been scientifically proven (by me and my dog Riley), that dogs are better than boys in many ways.

1. They listen to us (mostly).

Let's face it, girls. We know that 90% of the time, our guys aren't listening to us, and if they are, they give us answers we don't want to hear. Dogs are always interested in what we have to say. I can sit with my dog and talk to him about anything, and he will sit there and listen to me, even though he probably doesn't understand a word. And he understands the word "no" than most boys.

2. Their extreme happiness when we come home.

There's nothing better than coming home to a pup who's so excited you're home that they just jump all over you and get slobber everywhere. We never get tired of seeing our dogs. We wish guys were that excited to see us.

3. Their soft, fluffy cuddling.

Let's face it, cuddling with a soft, warm puppy is way better than cuddling with a guy who's muscles make it feel like you're cuddling with a rock. (Both are nice, though.)

4. Puppy kisses.

There's just nothing better than puppy kisses, period. Not even boyfriend kisses.

5. They will follow us anywhere and do whatever with us.

Most times, if you have a guy, you have to beg him to come somewhere with you. With dogs, they are always willing to go anywhere with you, as long as they are with you. My pup has made many car rides very entertaining. Plus, you get to play whatever music you want, and they won't complain like a guy would.

6. Their unconditional love and devotion to us.

A guy can say he will love you forever, but that doesn't mean he means it. They don't have to be there your whole life. Dogs are always there. From day one, until the end, your dog will love you every day. There is no better feeling than knowing that you are there for your dog throughout their whole life. They will love you forever, and be there with you through everything.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
