It's happening. Something that you never imagined when you were touring colleges or moving into your freshman dorm. I sat at orientation at 18 years old with my parents as the speaker told us how many credits it would take every semester to graduate and how this was the start of our new beginning. My dad turned to me and said, "I can't believe you're a freshman in college already," and I remember thinking about how long four years was. Now as I am watching my senior friends graduate and I am nearing the start of my senior year I think back about all the amazing memories I have had these last three years and the people that have made me who I am. Here are some thoughts you may be thinking as well if you're about to be a senior in college.

1. Wait, wasn't I just a freshman?

You are suddenly so nostalgic for xl twin beds and dining hall food. I remember moving to college like it was yesterday and not knowing a single person. It is crazy to think of how much you've grown, changed and bettered yourself as a person in these few short years.

2. Does this mean I have to be an adult now?

I mean, what does adulting even mean? Can I still eat Chinese food at midnight while watching reruns of Gossip Girl on Netflix or is that just for broke college kids?

3. I have so many feelings.

Half of you is so very sad that this is your last year to wake up at noon on a Monday or wear matching outfits with 13 of your sorority sisters but you're also ready to embrace new experiences that come with graduation.

4. I don't know what I want to do with my life.

If you have your life all together before you start your senior year of college I'd consider that an actual miracle. It's okay not to know your exact path that's what this year is for anyway.

5. I want to be 5 again.

You feel so old even though you are in your super early 20's. You look around at the younger kids feeling so jealous of them and how they have their whole lives to figure it out. You keep thinking about how much easier life was when you were a kid and often find yourself looking through old photos and thinking about a time when the most stressful thing you had to deal with was what outfit to put on your Barbie doll.

6. I can do this.

You realize that you've accomplished so much already and you're ready for this next step. You still need a pep talk from your mom though.

Seniors, this is our last year. So let's make it the best one yet.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
