WHERE DID FOUR YEARS GO? WHAT THE FUDGE!?

I mean we are excited to walk down, grab that diploma, and run for the hills-until we realize that hill spells out - adulthood.

Ugh if you have not been dealing with bills yet, you will be dealing with them now. If you have not worked a full time job, this is the rude awakening we have been avoiding. There are so many things that have to happen before we walk the stage that we want to avoid, but there is no way we can avoid it! Here are some thoughts, good and bad that we have as we enter our last spring semester of undergraduate.

1. Where the hell did 4 years go!?

Like I knew 4 years of high school went by fast, but I mean I blinked and I am about to graduate! This is not making any sense and I do not know how to feel.

2. This is my last first day of undergraduate..

Some of us may be done with school when this is over and same may be jumping right back into to. Either way, THIS IS IT! We can say we have this last semester to complete our dual degrees or minors or majors or anything!

3. What am I doing after I leave here?

If only the answer would pop out at us like the sparkles...smacked you in the face so you could really rejoice, but honestly they do not help your dilemma! The struggle is getting real and you don't even know where to even go from here!

4. How dare I think I can't figure this out!

It may seem hella scary, BUT COME ON! We survived late nights, exams, papers, friend drama, and teachers leaving. I think figuring out how to find an adult life will not be so bad!

5. Drinking is totally okay to get through this last semester, right?

Not saying every single night...just when the struggle seems to get really hard or you just really don't want to think about that senior presentation that could make or break you walking the stage in May.

6. When you realize you are doing just fine!

It's okay to feel as though everything is not working as it should be, this is the last semester and it shouldn't be happening this way, but it is okay! You are probably overthinking all of this anyway and you just need to sit back and relax a little bit!

We have from January to May to get this last semester finished and walk away! We are almost there. CELEBRATE THAT MOMENT! You are about to accomplish something that will change the course of those to follow behind you whether it be family or someone you don't know yet. You worked hard through the tears and times you thought maybe you wouldn't make it because of the bad grades and sometimes even bad teachers, but you are about to! So hold your head high, strut your way through this semester, and know you are going to change the world one sassy walk at a time!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
