How is it April!? February and March were gone in the blink of an eye! A new month also means a whole list of to-do's and April is a tricky month for us college students. It is the month that holds the last of our regular exams, leads us in to finals, and also holds some of our last good-byes with friends before summer. In order to make all this a little easier, I made a list of all the "must-do" things this April!

1. Celebrate Easter

Whether that means brunch and an Easter egg hunt or attending a church service and family dinner, start the month off right by celebrating Easter (which just so happens to be April first). Take this time to relax because once you get back to school it's go time! This may be your last chance to breathe for a little while!

2. Create a study plan for finals.

The end of April means the start of May. . . and the beginning of May means one thing: finals. Get ahead and start to prepare for finals. I know you may still have other exams before, but you won't regret starting now. Don't make your schedule so rigorous that your stress builds up just by looking at it. Grab a coffee and schedule time at the library to get away from any distractions.

3. Go on a bike ride.

Hopefully it is warm enough where you are to finally spend some time outside. Grab a few friends and take a bike ride to a park, flower garden, or even to brunch. Not only are you getting outside for some much needed sunshine, but you are also getting some exercise in and spending the day with people you love.

4. Clean/Organize your desk.

If you go back to #2 on this list, then you already know finals have been mentioned. You need a place to study though right? Set aside thirty mintues to go through and clean out your desk. Get rid of any clutter that is just taking up space (miscellaneous papers, dried up highlighters, assignments from last semester that magically appeared out of nowhere, etc.). This way when you go to study you are starting with a clean desk that is all organized.

5. Celebrate Earth Day (April 22nd)

There are so many options in every community to get involved with this Earth Day. Take a break from studying for finals and spend some time with Mother Nature. It's good to get outdoors and clear your head and celebrating Earth Day is the perfect excuse.

6. Host a girls night.

It may be your last chance before finals takes over and everyone heads home for summer. Take some time to relax with your besties and paint each other's nails, do face masks, eat pizza and ice cream, and turn on a chick flick. This may be the last chance to have everyone in the same place until next semester!

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
