It is so easy to have a good day when you begin your day in a good mood. But you have to keep your good mood throughout the day and sometimes that can get hard. So here are a couple of things you should do throughout your day to make sure you always have a good one.

1. Make a "To-Do List"

This is not for everybody but it is so handy to have a list of things to do each day. It's a good way to make sure that you're getting everything done for the day and not forgetting anything. Also, blocking out time for the tasks you need to complete allows you to see how much time you have for things you want to do.

2. Call Someone

Whether it's your mom, dad, sibling, aunt, uncle, grandparent, friend, etc., call at least one person and find out how they are. Talk about your day, their day, funny stories, the future, etc. When you're away at college, you don't have the opportunity to talk to all of your friends and family every day, and a conversation each day can really brighten your mood.

3. Exercise

Finding little ways to include some exercise in your daily routine can help you feel great throughout the day. Whether you are setting time aside to go to the gym or whether you choose to walk to class/work instead of taking the bus, any exercise helps.

4. Be Kind To Others

Helping out others and improving their day, can help you feel good as well. Hold a door for someone, compliment someone's outfit, bring coffee to your coworkers. Random acts of kindness and helping out others can improve their day, as well as yours.

5. Keep Up Your Health

Physical and mental health is so important to upkeep. Making sure that you take care of your body and mind each day. Get enough sleep, drink lots of water, and take your vitamins.

6. Go Off The Grid

Take time out of your day to put the technology away and interact with the world around you. Go for a walk and don't look at your phone, spend time reading a book or cleaning your room. Time apart from social media and technology can make you feel more connected to the world around you.

It's so important to treat yourself well in order to have a great day everyday. Follow these daily tasks to improve your mood and health.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement.
