6 Things You Have To Do This Halloween

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

There are countless reasons why I love Halloween. In fact, it may be one of the best holidays. The weather is great, not too hot but not too cold. The leaves are brilliant colors and are coating the ground. Bonfires, hoodies, flannels and pumpkin spice lattes have officially made their appearance. On top of all of this, getting to dress up as anything you want and how you want is just extremely fun and exciting. You get to be a kid again, which is great, even if it is just for a day. However, 24 hours can go by fast, so you should try to enjoy it as much as you can. While you're busy enjoying this happily haunted holiday, here's some things you should try to remember to do this Halloween.

1. Dress up.

Whether you want to dress up in a funny, sexy or scary, just do it. Whatever you want to be. You can go all out or keep it simple. Buy a costume or try some DIY projects. It's the one night of the year you can be anyone you want. Live a little.

2. Watch a Halloween themed movie.

I'm not going to lie, I am such a baby when it comes to scary movies. My imagination runs wild and everything I see stays with me forever. So if you're like me, it's OK to keep it simple and watch "Hocus Pocus" or "Halloweentown". Or, if you're feeling brave enough, you can try something a bit more intense. Either way, at least watch one Halloween feeling movie. You have to.

3. Decorate a pumpkin.

Who doesn't love carving pumpkins? Actually, I'm sure a lot of us don't. I myself am awful at carving pumpkins, but I can still paint them and make them look cute. So grab a pumpkin and decorate away. It can keep you company on this chilly, creepy night.

4. Eat lots and lots of candy.

I mean, this is what this holiday is for, after all. Or at least that's what I'm going to keep telling myself. And to celebrate right, go to the store and get a huge bag of your favorite candy. The best part is, everyone will think it's for your trick-or-treaters. No one will ever know you're actually just going to go home and stuff your face with the entire bag in less than ten minutes.

5. Go to a pumpkin patch.

How can you let Halloween pass without going to a pumpkin patch? It's not truly Fall until you've been to at least one of them. Plus, you can get some of the cutest Fall pictures there too. Go ahead and be basic and take a picture with a pumpkin on your head, we won't judge. You get bonus points if you go on a hayride too.

6. Eat more candy.

Seriously, we're not judging. Besides, I'm pretty sure calories don't even exist on holidays, to begin with. You do you.

Enjoy this festive fall holiday. Happy Halloween!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
