Apparently, the flu is terrible this year and people are dying from it. That is scary to me. Obviously, if you're that sick you probably shouldn't be out. Don't be the person that goes to class and coughs all over everything. Nobody likes that person. I hold my breath around that person.

For any other, less severe ailments, I do also not recommend going to class BUT there are a few things you can do to make your sickness more bearable.

1. Sleep

I know that I always include sleep in every list I make. However, I do believe that it fixes most things. I also believe that it helps a lot when you're sick to get as much rest as possible. Your body will really appreciate that. I took so much Nyquil over the past two days and I have actually been asleep more than I've been awake. While that may screw with your internal clock, I do feel very well rested and not as weak as I would if I hadn't slept.

2. Watching Videos

Mindless screen time is the best way to pass the hours you are awake. I watched some youtube videos today and it made me remember why I like them so much. Also, Netflix and Hulu may become your best friends during sick days.

3. Self Medicate

The entire point is to make yourself feel better, yes? So hit up your local drugstore and buy some medicine. Don't wallow in your symptoms, if you can help it. Buy the entirety of CVS if you feel so inclined. Just make sure everything you take works for you and works well together.

4. Create Something

Do something that demands more mental energy than physical energy. I like to write when I'm not feeling well. If you're more into art, then that's fine too. Paint or draw or do whatever makes you feel at ease, just make something that you can be proud of if you're gonna spend so much time in your room anyway.

5. Play A Game

Yes, sometimes it is okay to have games on your phone for the times that you can't really move or get out of bed. Or maybe video games on your favorite gaming console are more your speed? Nevertheless, complete a challenge, dive into a fantasy world, and escape the reality where you're using 30 tissues an hour.

6. Take A Shower

I know the last thing you wanna do when you're sick is get out of bed. BUT a warm shower will make you feel sooo much better. Clean yourself up, let the warm water run over you. And then hop back in bed. I didn't say you had to go anywhere.

I, for one, am feeling under the weather right. And I can never figure out how not to waste a day. But I've come up with some things that you, or I, can do if I'm feeling too crappy to go to class or to awake from my slumber.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
