Happy New Year, Odyssey readers! I know you're all glad that we no longer have to face the horrors of 2016, so here is a list of 6 things we're all happy to be leaving behind.

1. The 2016 Presidential Race

No matter what side you're on, I think we can all admit that those debates were a complete disaster.

2. One Beloved Celebrity Death After Another

Prince, Muhammad Ali, David Bowie, the list goes on and on. With so many beloved celebrity deaths, one guy started a GoFundMe to protect Betty White from 2016.

3. Killer Clowns

Let us not forget the killer clowns running the streets during 2016. Ironically, they seemed to disappear once Halloween came around.

4. Cinematic Let Downs

According to film critic, Peter Travers, Suicide Squad was the worst movie of 2016. Lets give a round of applause to the "Worst Heroes Ever".

5. Becky With The Good Hair

*Sips Lemonade* We never did find out who Becky with the good hair was. But we don't want her causing anymore trouble in queen Bey's life, so let's leave Becky in 2016.

6. The Zika Virus

In 2015, we had Ebola. 2016 brought us the Zika virus. Lets hope 2017 doesn't bring any new viruses to town.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
