As we all know, the Fall semester is about to come to an end. Thank the Lord, it's almost over. We've cried, called our parents saying we're going to drop out of college, had too many cups of coffee to stay up all night studying, and cried some more. Job well done, my fellow college student. It's getting down to the wire, and you have probably learned the ways of finessing college and your grades. Soon, it will be Reading Day at your college/university. After that, you will have your final exams and presentations. Finally, you'll be headed home for a long, well-needed break. You survived fall semester!
Now I know I am always extremely bored during winter break, even if I am working, volunteering, or hanging out with friends in the area. If I'm home by myself, I'll probably be cuddled up with my body pillow and some hot tea watching Netflix. If you're overwhelmed by what to watch on Netflix, here are a few things you can begin to watch during the break.
1. Grey's Anatomy
If you know me, you know this is my favorite show. Following the lives of the surgical interns of Seattle Grace Hospital all the way up until they become residents and chief-of-surgeons, Grey's Anatomy will shock you with all the love, hate, plot twists, and medical mysteries involved. You'll be addicted.
2. Luke Cage
If you like Marvel, then you'll love Luke Cage. Follow him as he takes on the evils of Harlem, New York and tries to keep things peaceful with his super strength.
3. Orange is the New Black
If you haven't heard or seen about OITNB, then you're missing out. This is a great show that follows each of the inmates during their time in prison, how they grow as a person, why they became a prisoner in the first place, and so much more. OITNB will have you crying, screaming, laughing, and all of the above.
4. Stranger Things
I'm so excited Stranger Things is getting renewed for a second season! This science-fiction horror story series will have you shocked but excited for the next episode.
5. Narcos
Guns. Drugs. Violence. Thrilling. Narcos follows the life of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. If you want something exciting to watch over the break, this is a good series for you.
6. The Get Down
Set in 1970's New York, this is a great show for old-school, hip-hop heads. The music, clothes, singing, and acting along with the different messages will have you wanting more.
I believe these are some great shows to get into over the break! I wish you all success during your finals, and may the curve and finesse be in your favor.
