1. Your academic club
Being involved in the club for your major can boost your knowledge about what you are studying, create real world connections and open doors to internships.
2. A class that doesn't fall under your major requirements
One of the best parts about college is that you have a variety of options for your Gen Ed requirements so take that opportunity and take a class that you might be interested in that is in another field of study.
3. Attend the free events your campus offers
Whether you know it or not, there are clubs on campus that offer a wide variety of free events from beta fish to comedians to magicians and to free food. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE THINGS WHILE YOU CAN!
4. Explore the area near your campus
Obviously you will get acquainted with the town directly around you but try to go even farther outside of the boundaries of campus. If you go to school in or near a city go explore it one weekend, try a random non-chain restaurant down the road, take a walk in a park nearby. Go explore.
5. Volunteer for a service event
College campuses offer numerous opportunities for you to give back by donating your time to a service event. Try to get in touch with your campus' volunteer center to find a service opportunity that best fits you.
6. Something you haven't tried before
I know it sounds very cliche but college is a time where you can try whatever you want and if you don't like it you don't have to do it again. Take this time to join that new club or take that interesting class!
