Well, in case you've been living under a rock for the past 2 years, the presidential election took place on Tuesday, and I would like to say welcome to President-Elect Donald Trump. However, I'm not here to talk about anything political or anything regarding this controversial election; instead, I am here to help all of us take our minds off of it for a hot second. A palate cleanser, if you will. So here it is, some random things that make me happy and that I hope will bring you joy.

1. DONUTS!!!

But more particularly Gourdough's Donuts

I was first introduced to these beautiful morsels of decadence by one of my best friends, and I have been dreaming about one day having enough money to try every donut on the menu. With over 20 gourmet options to try, including the magical donut burger, you are bound to find something to sink your teeth into.

The reason I love Gourdough's is because, not only is it delicious, but it reminds me of my best friend. He is up at KU which means he is an easy ten-and-a-half hours away from me. He loves donuts almost as much as he loves his dog, and he and I would always go out and eat donuts whenever either of us was having a bad day. So, now whenever I want to feel closer to him or whenever I am having a bad day I try and go up to Austin to get a donut and just be happy.

2. PUPPIES!!

My sister just got a puppy and no matter what type of day I am having, seeing a picture of this pupper makes my day 1000x better. Well, technically that happens when I see any dog. Not to mention, that dogs are just too pure and good for this world. So, if you need to take your mind off of any of this drama in the world right now go and google puppy videos or pictures, God knows I do all the time.

Here's a few to get you started

3. Your Friends

What would I do without my friends? They are the certain people in your life who can put a smile on your face and keep your mind off of anything for a while. Even though my best friends are hundreds of miles away I know that I can always turn to them to feel a little better. Heck, my best friend Justin and I schedule time to FaceTime each other and watch our favorite musicals. So, if you're feeling a little sad or overwhelmed or tired of everything on social media and on the news, call up a buddy of yours and go grab lunch.

Here is a picture of me and Justin, just because I miss him and seeing best friends have a good time usually makes people want to call up their own friends and have a good time, too.

4. Find a New Hobby

For many people, including myself, a hobby is a go-to way to relieve stress and to distract yourself. I usually bake as much as possible, but since college makes that way more difficult than it usually is I have started working out. So, what're you waiting for? Go and find that new hobby and have a good time!

Here's a list of a few hobbies in case you are stumped.

5. Discover Some New Music

"Music can change the world because it can change people." - Bono

Check out some new genres or artists, because you never know what's out there until you go out and find it. And for all you know, the exact thing you needed to hear is just waiting for you to find it.

Check out a few of these all-time hits and discover something new to listen to.

6. Enjoy Yourself

This was a list of things that help and distract me, but I know that not everyone likes the things I do, so just go out there and do what makes you happy. Being happy and enjoying yourself is the best thing that you can do and it's something that no one and nothing can take away from you. So, go out there and have a good time.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
