Yes, Valentine's Day is finally here. I know that we all wish it was as easy as elementary school, making a cool box and everyone gets a valentine from everyone in the class. But that time is no more. I have been a part of the singles camp on Valentine's for quite a long time now, and I have heard interesting Valentine's Day experiences from my friends. This list aims to give some ideas of things to do on Valentine's Day, other than the common dinner date. However, all of these things are for both couples and single people, because Lord knows I'll be doing most of these as a single person.
1. Go see a movie
Going to see a movie is always a fun time! The scandalous "Fifty Shades Darker" came out over the weekend, which is a steamy film you and your significant other could see. Or, you could check out the cute movie "Sing" with your friends, because animated sing-alongs are always a great time.
2. Have a movie marathon
This is one of my favorite things to regardless of the holiday. Sitting down and watching a ton of funny and cute movies with your friends is something you can't go wrong with. And the best part? Couples and single people can both do this (even together!)!
3. Have a feast
Let's be honest, food is a wonderful thing. Grab your better half and some friends and have a feast! Make some mashed potatoes (or any kind of potatoes because they're all amazing), maybe get a rotisserie chicken, and always, always lots of ice cream.
4. Throw a party!
Let's be honest, we all wish that we could have parties like the ones in elementary school where everyone brought treats and we played games. So, why not do that? Invite some friends, make some cookies, and party it up!
5. Have a spa night
I have never participated in a spa night myself, nor gone to a spa. However, I have heard many good things about them, so why not grab some friends and maybe your better half and just relax for the night? I personally like relaxing while watching Netflix, so throwing on some "Bob's Burgers" or any other comedic show and have a good time!
6. Go shopping
Retail therapy is a very real thing, regardless of what any therapist says. I know first-hand the relief swiping your card on another shirt you don't need can bring. So grab some friends, go out, have a ball, and get some rad outfits!
I'm not sure if you can see a running theme here, but being with friends is definitely the way to go, Valentine's Day or not. Be with your friends, family, and loved ones, whether it's on a dinner date or not. Happy Valentine's Day!
