Philadelphia is a pretty awesome city with so much to do! It may seem sub-par to New York City, but there are tons of events during the months of February and March that makes it unique and a great spot to visit during these bitter cold months!

  1. Restaurant Week - January 29th to February 3rd: Check out this endless lists of restaurants that are offering budget-conscious prices for tons of lunches and dinners during this week! Lunches and dinners in the city during this week are totally worth the trip and the price.   2. Philadelphia Auto Show - January 28th to February 5th: Head out to the Philadelphia Convention Center to check out the 2017 Auto Show! All kinds of cars are debuting at the show and there are even chances to sit in the cars and take a drive in some, too!   3. Black History Month - February 2017: All different museums and venues are holding special events in honor of Black History Month! The National Constitution Center will be holding special events while places like the museum will be hosting plenty of fine artwork and memorabilia.   4. PHS Philadelphia Flower Show - March 11th to 19th: The flower show will be hosting a Holland theme this year, highlighting their culture, innovations, and a selection of wonderful flowers indoors this March. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
