6 Things to be Thankful for

With Thanksgiving around the corner, taking time to reflect on what you're really thankful for is vital. It's almost the end of the year, and with that comes a lot of things to be thankful for. A year, 365 days in total, is a long time and you're bound to be thankful for something.

1. Family

Personally, family should always be something to be thankful for because they will always be there no matter what. Even if there's tension there, now is the time to reflect and see all that your family has done. Family is a bond no one can break.

2. Education

I know this may not seem like a thing you should be thankful for, but it should be. An education is something that should be treasured because some education is scarce in some places.

3. Obstacles

Hear me out, the daily struggles you're going through is something that should be something big. They're the one thing that made your year unique from all the others.

4. Roof

Having a roof over your head is a blessing. It really is.

5. Food

Just like having a roof over your head, food is important. Even if the food is not the best, having something to put in your stomach is huge because hunger around the world is real.

6. Clothes

Clothes are expensive and, even if they're not brand name, they should truly be appreciated. As long as you have clothes on your back, trust me you're good.

Honestly, it's all about the little things. Being thankful comes with a lot of reflecting. Now is the time to reflect, but don't forget about the things that are always taken for granted.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
