Lets face it, whether you are a football fan or not, UVA college game day is what everyone looks forward to during the week. Win or lose, UVA students always make the best out of every Saturday. Here are 5 reasons why UVA game days are the best around:
1. Girls in pearls, guys in ties
Who doesn't live picking out the perfect outfit for game day? That orange dress that you bought last week, or jean overalls would be the perfect thing to wear! Just add on a UVA sticker on your cheek and don't forget your statement sunnies and you're ready to go!
2. Brunch
We all love to start off our day nice and early at our favorite brunch spots at either Cafe Caturra of Fig Bistro. It's the morning of game day, you have orange and blue all over you, what's better than some french toast and bottomless mimosas to start off the day?!
3. DARTIES
This is probably one of the best parts about game days and college life in general. You get to dress up and head to your favorite frat who most likely has a band ready to play for the day. What makes it even better sometimes is when you see parents at the darties.
4. Tailgates
Whether it's your friend's parents' tailgate our your parents' tailgate, it is always fun to grill up some good food and tailgate with alumni as they share some of their favorite memories of UVA.
5. The Good Old Song
If you aren't prepared to scream this song at the top of your longs every time our team scores, you are not a true wahoo. Showing up at the stadium and seeing a sea of orange all around is epic. Once you hear "TOUCHDOWN CAVALIERS" be ready to join hands with whoever is next to you and sing proudly, you'll be sure to get chills after.
6. Lunch on the corner
What better way to end a game day than with lunch with all of your friends at some of everyone's favorite places on the corner like Boylan or Trinity? The weather is usually perfect to sit outside and enjoy a Boylan burger and maybe a milkshake.
There are a lot of things that make up UVA game days and of course, these are just a few, but whether you are a student of the university or not, everyone should attend a game during their college days.
