6 Things Seniors Should Remember

I Think I Know Everything Because I Graduated.

6 Things Seniors Should Remember

High school is almost over! 180 more days (or less depending on how many you skip) until you're free! Four years of education have paid off and soon you'll be walking in your cute little cap and gown to receive a very important piece of paper. Here's some things to remember while you navigate the halls one last time.

1. Just Do It

Look, I know this is the Nike slogan, but it's good advice. If you're thinking about joining that club, or starting that project, or anything: Just do it. Literally, just go for it. It'll pay off at the end of the year and you'll have so much fun.

2. Be that teacher's friend

Whether it's your English teacher who talks to you about the books you read, or your Calculus teacher who asks you to tutor some of the younger kids, you should build on that bond. Becoming friends (or at least as friendly as you can get with a teacher) is one of the best decisions I ever made in high school. The senioritis is REAL this year, I promise, and being on a teacher's good side could help when you need the extra day or two to finish your research paper.

3. Actually, be everyone's friend

This is the last time you're going to see probably 85-90% of these people. Be friends with them, make memories with them, end your year without the regret of "oh, I wish I had talked to that girl/guy/person in my English/Math/Psych class". You will be so happy with all the friends you made.

4. Do things

Along the lines of making friends, be sure to go to all of the senior class things. Whether it's a meeting during lunch, or an unofficial get-together just go because it'll be fun. This is probably where you'll make some of those new friends. Meetings are also the place where you decide what you class quote is, what song you'll walk out to, and countless other important senior things.

5. Don't dance if you don't want to

Some people make your senior homecoming and prom into a really big deal, but they're not. If you don't want to go, you don't have to. Don't let people push you into doing something that won't be fun. However, if you're into that, then definitely go!

6. Have fun

I know, this is dumb and everyone says this, but this year truly goes by so fast. It was September, and then all of the sudden it was June. Make the most of your year. Finish strong with your grades and your activities. Apply for that college you don't think you're going to get into, because you might. Have fun with your new friends, and the new clubs you get involved in.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
