6 Things I'd Rather Be Doing Than Studying For Finals Told By Christmas Music

"YOU’RE A MEAN ONE, MR.FINAL’S, YOU ‘RE AS CHARMING AS AN EEL"

1.) Sleeping

“SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE”
Yes, we know nobody ever goes to bed early in college but when it comes to finals you could be up for days at a time, not even studying. You could enjoy a nice movie, karaoke hour or even snacking away with your roommate.

2.) Watching the 25 Days of Christmas

“IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR.”

From The Polar Express to Elf and everything in between, re-watching these movies 100 times sounds a heck of a lot better than even opening your biology notebook or doing practice problems for stats.

3.) Going back home early

“THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME FOR THE HOLIDAY’S”

There’s nothing quite like that smell of fresh baked cookies and Christmas trees when you walk into your house after being away for so long ( and for so long, I mean 2 weeks). I’d rather be spending time with my family than understanding Psychology 101 because one month of vacation just doesn’t seem long enough.

4.) Going on adventures and looking at Christmas lights

“A ’54 CONVERTIBLE TOO, LIGHT BLUE”

There are so many cute little towns in New Hampshire that are decorated and so pretty to walk the main street and see so many different trees and fronts of stores all decorated with Christmas cheer. Sometimes I think these lights are brighter than my future but these thoughts will subside as soon as finals are over.

5.) Playing games with my friends

“THEY NEVER LET POOR RUDOLPH JOIN IN ANY REINDEER GAMES.”

Well thank god I am not a reindeer because I love to play games with my friends. These types of games can vary from game pigeon on my iPhone to card games and they can relieve so much stress by just being around people who make you feel happy.

6.) Spending time with my friends who also procrastinate

“FAITHFUL FRIENDS WHO ARE SO DEAR TO US, GATHER NEAR TO US ONCE MORE” Enjoy spending time with your friends at college for the time you have because soon it will be Christmas break and you won’t see them for a month. These friends aren't like any other because they understand the struggles of finals and want you to succeed but they want to have a good time and go out with a bang.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
