No classes and a long weekend? Sounds like music to my and every other college student's ears. But not everyone has the luxury to go home during breaks and see their much-missed family. Lots of us have to endure campus with no one around. So, here are some things every student who stays on campus during breaks will know to be true.
1. No crowds during meal time in the dining hall
Since almost everyone is home for the holidays that means the dining halls are empty during lunch and dinner. No more struggling to find a table for you and your friends to sit at.
2. Saying you'll do homework but really just watching movies all day
Let's be honest: Break is the perfect time to catch up on homework. You make plans to be productive all break -- go to the gym, get ahead on readings, and maybe even hit the town for a bit. But in reality, all you do is watch Netflix all day.
3. Never having to wait for a laundry machine
It always seems like every time you have to do laundry all of the machines are taken. So, when you find multiple empty machines you can't help but do a happy dance.
4.Struggling to find someone to get food with
Since all your friends went home to visit family it's hard to find someone to eat with you in the dining hall. So, sometimes you just have to make due with the ones you can find.
5. Singing as loud as you want in the shower because nobody is around to hear
Normally, the halls and bathroom always have people going in and out, so you can't sing the way you used in the shower back home. Now the coast is clear! Jamming out to the song that's been stuck in your head all day is totally cool.
6. Only seeing a few people walking around campus
Although we beg for some alone time in college, it is no fun when you have no friends around for the weekend. The break just seems 10 times longer with no one around.
