1. I'm going to try to do everything

Okay, Okay, I know eight clubs and organizations, a double major, a double minor, and Honors sounds like a lot, but you taught me to try my absolute best in everything I do. You taught me never to quit. I know I didn't put myself out there as much as I should have in high school, so this is me making up for that. I want the all emcompassing experience you got out of college. I don't want to miss anything.

2. I'm going to make mistakes

These are called the best and worst years of your life for a reason. I'm going to make stupid decisions sometimes, but I'm trying to learn how to stand on my own without you, as hard as it may be. I'll do my best to remember what you taught me, and reassure myself that you are still there supporting me every step of the way.

3. I may not call you as much as I should...

It's not because I don't want to talk to you, or I've forgotten about you. If I call you, odds are I'm going to get homesick, and it's better to wait a little longer for that next call. I know you'd want me to enjoy myself, but it can be hard sometimes when you're not here.

4. ...but I most definitely still need you

Sometimes I just need a hug from you after a bad day, but I'll just have to make do with your voice over the phone until the next trip home.

5. I miss you every second I'm away from home

Please don't ever think for a second that I don't miss you. I'm having the time of my life away at school with people I love, but I still count down the days that I get to go home and see you. Waiting months at a time to see you can make bad days seem even worse, but I know I'll feel that much better when I come home again.

6. I'm so grateful for everything you've given me

I can't tell you how overwhelmingly grateful I am to you. You've given me the opportunity to even call myself a college student, let alone allow me to go to a school that I love. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to shine in life, I just hope I'm able to make you proud.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
