Everyone thinks that being a bookworm is a good thing, and it is. But as with everything else, there is a downside. These are some of the downsides of being a book lover I’ve experienced, but they will never make me give up my books!

1. You can’t pass up a trip to the bookstore.

It’s almost impossible. Those bookshelves with their stacks of books are just calling to you, begging you to take one (or a hundred) of them home. You just can’t resist their pleas.

2.You’re consistently broke.

Every time you have some spare money, it’s spent at the bookstore. You just have to have the last book in the series and you CANNOT wait for the library to decide to get a copy. They take too long.

3. You have back problems.

This comes from trying to carry around too many books. It’s especially true when you’re going on vacation. You just never know what you’re going to be in the mood to read, so you have to bring something for every possibility!

4. You both love and hate your e-reader.

It lets you take all your books everywhere, but you just don't get that same feeling when you read a book on a screen rather than reading a physical book. This is one point I will always argue. Physical books for the win!

5. Just got a book? Better not have anything to do.

If you just got a new book, you better hope you have nothing important to do the next couple of days depending on which book you got. You will not get enough sleep at night until you finish that book and know what happens. That book will not leave your sight until it's finished being read. Then, even after you've finished it for the first time, you have to reread your favorite parts.

6. There's never enough room for all of your books.

Seriously, you finally save up to get that new bookshelf, and not all of your books fit on the shelf. You still have some of them in a tub on the floor, or stashed under your bed, or even just wobbly stacks around your room.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
