In the wake of recent suicide bombings such as those in the Pulse nightclub in Orlando or the Paris attacks that occurred earlier, people all over the world have come together in extraordinary ways to provide aid and support for those affected. However, many terrorist attacks have been largely overlooked by the media, especially the ones that happen in countries and cities that are unfamiliar to the general population. Here are six recent terrorist attacks that deserve to be brought to the attention of the public.
1. Istanbul Bombing on January 12, 2016
Istanbul, Turkey's largest city, suffered from a suicide bombing in a popular square that left 14 wounded and 13 dead. The bomber was identified as Nabil Fadli, an ISIS supporter in Syria.

The Taliban attacked the city of Ghazni, Afghanistan and killed many security personnel. There were nine people killed and 13 people wounded. These people ranged from civilians to police as well as attackers.
Almost on a daily basis, multiple terrorist attacks occur around the world. However, only a sparse few are brought to the attention and emphasized by the media. In no way are these attacks more important or impactful than others; they are all acts of war on human lives. No matter how far apart countries are from each other or whether or not the media chooses to cover a story, all terrorist attacks deserve to be brought to the attention of the public.
*Note: Many more terrorist attacks were carried out from January 1, 2016 to June. These six have been picked randomly and not due to the severity of the attack.
