We have all had a point in our life's where we look in the mirror not satisfied, realizing that our clothes were failing to making us look good. The first thing we do is complain to our friends how we are going to start the process of working out and having a healthier life style. But of course there are always those two types of people. People who of course can go weeks and months with working out and those who are like me and struggle of letting someone take away the bag of chips out of our hands. Although I am still bothered with reality and that gaining weight is so much easier than loosing weight, I'm still in denial and over here still trying to convince myself that its just "baby fat". Okay, dramatic, but the idea and process of wanting to work out and get in shape comes along with a long list of struggles. These struggles are the ones that are one heck of a challenge...well at least for me!

Struggle #1:

The struggle is real when you find yourself trying not to think about food, but you eventually end up taking a nice evil walk to the refrigerator to eat the unhealthiest thing you can find.

Struggle #2:

We all know that Monday. After you finish eating all the delicious food in the fridge, you realize it's the day you were supposed to watch what you were eating, and are constantly pushing the date to start to the following week for about a year.

Struggle #3:

The struggle to make time to do that thing people call exercise. Probably the hardest part when you would rather be lifting a slice of pizza to your mouth.

Struggle #4:

And lets just talk about the struggle of having to debate whether or not you want to be the person who makes a healthy choice by saying no, but get the whole party to look at you as if you are crazy or to just say yes and eat that delicious cake.

Struggle #5:

Realizing that the closest thing you will ever get to having a thigh gap are two pieces of chicken on your plate and that loosing weight is going to be a long road...and you eat the the friend chicken on your plate.

Struggle #6: Looking in mirror and realizing that you do not have abs yet by only doing 10 crunches and stepping of the scale to check if you at least dropped a a few ounces, but begin to question on how maybe your scale need knew batteries because you gained 2 pounds.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
