6 Starry Quotes For The End Of The Semester
Patrick McManaman

I love my fair share of inspirational quotes, but I find that the ones that make the most impact are ones that help to make sense of the world we are in and to push us forward to whatever our individual goals may be. These quotes have a "starry" or "celestial" theme and they help with perspective, both metaphorically and literally.

1. "The night sky is the closest thing we have to the sensation of infinite. Just gaze up and it's all yours. Always, wildly yours to know, to breathe, and to hold. And this is something we should remember."

- Victoria Erickson

2. "For a star to be born, there is one thing that must happen: a gaseous nebula must collapse.

So collapse.
Crumble.
This is not your destruction.

This is your birth."

- n.t.

3. "We must be the ones who see the blaze in ourselves before anyone else.
They might claim it's only a trick of the light but we must know that we have stars within us."

- Ariana

4. "You must look for constellations
In the orange city lights,
View each streetlamp as a star
That's simply fallen from the night.
So that even tired footsteps
Feel like learning how to fly,
And you're never truly trapped
Right where the earth touches the sky.
Then when your world's turned upside down
You'll know no matter where you are,
That you will always have the chance
To fall asleep amongst the stars."

- Erin Hanson

5. One night
when you were just a star
someone hung every hope
every wish
every dream
they ever had
from your limbs
so if you ever feel inferior
ever start to doubt
your beauty
your brilliance
just remember:

you have constellations
lining the cathedral walls
of your chest, a moon for
a heart, and the sunlight
pouring through your skin

you are a symphony of stardust
and you were born to shine."

- Tyler Kent White

6. "Keep your chin up little stargazer
At worlds above our own,
You are small but you are stardust
And that's worth more than you've known,
For every sun and solar flare
Is made up just like you,
And if they're cause for wonder
Then I promise you are too.
Look out little stargazer
'Til nothing's left unseen,
And know there's not a patch of sky
Where no-one else's eyes have been,
That the darkness that enfolds you
Holds countless other starlit hearts,
And with this you stand together
Though you live lifetimes apart.
Be brave now little stargazer
The sky is growing light,
And courage wanes like moonbeams
When it's pulled out from the night,
But like those who gazed before you;
Know when your heart is full of fear,
That it is always in your darkness
That the stars start to appear."

- Erin Hanson

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
