1. Excitement
At the start of the year, it is nearly impossible to not be excited. Everyone can't wait to see their friends again and be at their home away from home.
2. Denial
As the year progresses, seniors experience more and more lasts. While some of these are exciting, most of them are bittersweet moments. There's the last homecoming, the last practice, the last game, and many more lasts. It doesn't seem possible to be time for lasts and to enter the real world soon.
3. Acceptance
Somewhere along the way, it becomes a necessity to accept reality (or at least pretend to) and begin applying for jobs.
4. Panic
Shortly afterward, a state of panic sets in. The realization that in a matter of weeks everything once known will be gone sinks in.
5. Senioritis
After a long stretch of trying to balance school with job applications, senioritis hits hard.
6. Celebration
All of the hard work has finally paid off!
