6 Stages Of Being Ready To Go Back To College

There gets to be a point in the summer where you're ready to be back at school. Well, we've all hit that point. Only two or three weeks until we all go back. Everyone mostly looks forward to going back for a couple reasons. One is to see all of your friends and the other is being able to be on your own again. You never thought you'd miss leaving a place you've spent all year at. At first, it was missing home that was the problem. Now, it's missing everything about your college town. You can't wait to be back with everyone. Being able to go out and have fun at the places you miss are the things that get you going through the different stages of being ready to be back at school. With the help of "Friends," these are the six stages of moving back to college.

1. The anxious stage

At first, you feel anxious to be back. You feel anxious to see people you haven't seen in months, anxious about the classes and anxious about the experiences.

2. The nervous stage

Next, you feel nervous. You're nervous to go back and be on your own, nervous to have to go back to class and nervous that you'll have to do well enough to get a job (especially during senior year).

3. The dreading stage

The dreading stage comes into play when you realize you'll have to "adult." You'll have to pay bills, go grocery shopping, budget everything and take care of yourself. The one thing you dread most is packing. Packing all of your clothes, everything you're moving into your dorm or apartment, and even things you're positive you'll need but you won't actually use them.

4. The waiting stage

After the dreading stage comes the waiting stage. You've finally had the motivation to pack but now you wait until you can actually move back. You might be waiting for a job to finish up or a lease to start, maybe even waiting until someone can help you move everything.

5. The excited stage

You're excited to be back and see everyone and everything. You can't wait for all of the new experiences this year and to be on your own again! The excited stage lasts for about one week. You can hardly sleep because you're counting down the days.

6. The "it's finally happening" stage

Today is the day! Can you believe it? You didn't sleep at all last night and you got up early this morning. You finally get to move back to your college town. How can you not be excited?!

Everyone gets excited to go back to college. It doesn't matter whether you're a sophomore or a senior. You'll go through many different stages but you always end up at the "it's finally happening" stage. So go on new adventures and enjoy all of your experiences. It goes by quicker than you think.

Sincerely,

A Senior

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Advice To Live By As Told By Bob's Burgers

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
