6 Spring Break "Staycation" Ideas

Spring Break is just around the corner, and just because you aren't going out of town doesn't mean you have to be sitting at home all week. There are so many things to do, you just have to actually get out and do them. Netflix is always acceptable, but try to be a little more spontaneous every now and then!

1. Go hiking

There are so many hiking trails in the Atlanta area; one for every level hiker. Whether you can hike half of a mile or five, I can assure you there is a hiking trail out there that you'd enjoy.

2. Bike the Atlanta Beltline

This is the perfect outdoor activity for a big group of friends or even for the whole family! Don't worry if you if you don't have a bike; you can rent one.

3. Have a picnic in Piedmont Park

If the weather is nice (which you won't know until the day of since we live in Georgia), pack a lunch and head to Piedmont Park for a nice picnic! You'll have a beautiful view of the Atlanta skyline, and if you go in the evening, you have a chance of seeing a gorgeous sunset.

4. Go to Andretti

Even if it rains, you still won't be bored thanks to Andretti. They have a huge go-carting track, a long zip line, a ginormous arcade with tons of games and so much more. It's absolutely impossible for you to get bored there.

5. Walk around Ponce City Market

Walking around Ponce City can be an enjoyable experience for anyone, even without buying anything. Everything about it is so unique, which makes it so fun to just walk around and look at what they have.Sometimes they even have a mini golf course on the roof!

6. Skyview Atlanta

Skyview Atlanta is basically the same thing as the London Eye. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but you definitely need to go if you haven't! Or even if you have, it never hurts to go again. It can be a day time or night time activity, depending on whether you want to see what all of Atlanta looks like in the day or what it looks like lit up at night.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
