Everyone knows that when you see 'Florida' in the headline of a news article or on T.V. it is bound to be something unbelievable.
Yes we are known for our sunshine, beaches, and amusement parks, but there are some things that only residents can understand.
If you're from Florida you can probably relate to almost everything on this list.
1. Pub Sub
Man oh man, it's a good day when you can sink your teeth into the infamous Publix Sub. Everyone from Florida knows how undefeated these subs are. Subway doesn't even compare here. Not only are the subs great but you knew dinner was lit when your parents brought home that chicken box and sweet Hawaiian rolls. Publix is all around a great shopping experience. OH and did I mention the free cookies from the Bakery when you visit? Yum!
2. Hurricane or Beach Day
Florida has THE most bipolar weather I have ever seen. This picture is a perfect example of what it's like living in Florida most days of the year. You could be heading to the beach with clear skies ahead but behind you it looks like the gates of hell are opening. It's so bizarre, but it's just Florida !
3. Love Bug Season
Although these bugs are called love bugs they bring out the opposite emotion on every Florida resident. Keeping your car clean is not a thing once love bug season comes around. They are completely harmless but most annoying!
4. Lizards
There are lizards scurrying around EVERYWHERE! Seeing them around is apart of our everyday life.
5. Humidity
If there is ever a rare day that it is not humid in Florida, we know to say our thank yous to Mother Nature. 99% of the time your hair is frizzy, your clothes are stuck to your body, and you actually feel like you're melting if you're outside for too long.
6. Our Town Names
Florida is known for it's American Indian town names. Whenever family comes from out of state they always look so confused, but chances are we know how to say these without even thinking about it. Oh and the last part is definitely apart if Florida Living ;) LOL
Florida is a crazy state with even crazier people, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. There are so many hidden gems, beautiful nature spots, and this is what I call home.
