6 Signs You Have Found Your College Best Friend

College is a time to find yourself and grow as a person, but what about the people we find along the way? There is no better person to meet during this time than your college best friend. There are many reasons why we love our college best friends and why they make the world as awesome as they do.

1. They're your partner in crime at every party, and your right-hand woman at the bars

No matter where your drunken escapades take you, they're always by your side. They're the Red Bull to your vodka, and you can count on them to make sure you're the perfect level of non-emotional and drunk. They're the bathroom buddy you always wanted and the wing woman you always needed. They're always there to go to happy hour on a Tuesday or tell you to get your sh*t together and drag to you to the library instead. They're your biggest cheerleader in beer Olympics and your automatic beer pong partner. Bonus: They know you so well that they'll steal your phone from you before you double-drunk-text your guy of the month.

2. They will always be there to talk you through your regrettable decisions, preferably over food

They're not going to judge you for waking up at your ex-boyfriend's house and will listen to you vent over brunch the next day. They will thoroughly play along every time you claim, "I'm never going to do this again," and won't look at you any less when you do. They're there for the failed relationships, last-minute papers you were supposed to start a month ago, and the falling-out of other friendships. They're the first person you text when something embarrassing happens and will let you eat the whole plate of fries to get over it.

3. They have seen you at your worst and still love you

Sweat pants, hair tied, chillin' with no makeup on? That's the you they usually see and they still want to be your friend. They've seen you during your worst hangover and at the end of your three-day study binges. They know your ugliest crying face and how you look coming out of a frat house the morning after. If this isn't true friendship, then I don't know what is.

4. You text them like you'd drunk-text your ex

You say the most ridiculous things to this person because you know they won't walk away and think your weird. Your love for each other rivals other relationships, to the point that it's almost disgusting.

5. You have too many inside jokes that no one ever knows what you're talking about

You have nicknames for every frat that are hilarious to you; you know so many embarrassing stories about each other; and you come up with the stupidest jokes. You both think you're hilarious, but everyone else is confused as to what you're even explaining. You do the weirdest things together, and it doesn't even faze you.

6. They're the friendship you always needed

You've had a lot of "best friends" in the past and some still stay true, but there is nothing as raw and real as your college best friend. They've watched your trials and errors at becoming an adult, and they're still around to see you succeed (or fail). The craziest things happen in college, and without them by your side, you're not sure you'd get through. So here's to all the best friends we make in college, who truly make your experience the best four years!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
