Fitbit is one of the new "popular" gadgets to have these days. I usually am not one for those things, but I got my Fitbit over two years ago and I am totally addicted. As I have met more people who are part of the Fitbit 'fam,' I have realized that we are all addicted. Fitbits are not just tracking your steps; it tracks your sleep, exercise, calories you burned, etc. My original Fitbit broke and I was without it for a week and I didn't know what to do with my life. That was when I realized I was a totally addict. If the following signs apply to you, then you might be an addict like me!

1. 10,000 steps is just not enough.

When I first started with my Fitbit, a new person came out in me. I suddenly would do anything to reach my step goal. Whether it was take longer routes to my classes or walk around my dorm until my Fitbit buzzed. As I started reaching my goal more frequently, 10,000 steps just wasn't enough. I keep increasing my step goal because I am so addicted and want to reach my step goal.

2. If you leave it at home, then all bets are off.

I have left my Fitbit at home on the charger and when that happens, steps don't matter to me anymore. What's the point of going the extra steps if you're not going to beat your friends? If my steps aren't being measured, then no one will know.

3. You get overly competitive with friends.

As I have gotten more and more friends on Fitbit, I need to be on the top of the list of my friends. See, they rank your list of friends based on how many steps you have. I will do whatever is in my power to beat everyone on my list. If someone syncs in last minute and has more steps than me, then I feel defeated.

4. You bring Fitbit up in conversations.

I am now that obnoxious person who brings up MyFitnessPal and Fitbit in my conversations with people. I don't know if it is because I am addicted or proud. Sometimes I just bring it up and I don't even know why. I sometimes even try to convince people to get a Fitbit. I should just become a sale associate for Fitbit.

5. You suddenly care about your sleeping habits.

Since your Fitbit tracks how well you sleep, I suddenly really cared about my sleeping patterns. It tells me how many times I am restless throughout the night, how many times I wake up and how long I slept for. Before my Fitbit era, I really didn't care, but now I do for some reason.

6. You live for when you reach your step goal.

I live for hitting my step goal. When my Fitbit starts buzzing and saying, "Congrats!" to me, there is no better feeling. I know that I hit my goal -- I crushed it and it was great. As they say, I am one step closer to being even healthier!

If you are like me, then you secretly know that you are a Fitbit addict. Deep down, you just know you are and you know that your Fitbit will always be there cheering you on!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
