September at William & Mary means new classes, sweltering heat, and sorority recruitment. Greek life is an important part of the social, philanthropic, and tight-knit community at the College, and there are several telltale signs that it’s time for new members to start finding their homes.
1. Letter Shirts EVERYWHERE
Every chapter on campus will be doing their best to get their name out there, so you’ll find every sorority girl decked out in her letters even more than usual.
2. Empty Parties
Recruitment means early mornings, long days, and late nights. Those already in Greek life and hopeful PNMs will probably be hitting the hay as early as possible during these two weekends.
3. Sundresses
Whether it’s walking across campus to sorority court or walking to Wawa in between rounds, you’ll be sure to see flocks of girls decked out in their cutest dresses.
4. New Facebook Profile Pictures
Recruitment means looking your best no matter how exhausted you are, so Greek women will be sure to take advantage of all the great pictures they’ll be taking.
#whygreekwm5. Wawa Running Out of Mac and Cheese
After girl flirting for hours on end nothing sounds better than mac and cheese from our school’s finest dining establishment.
Maybe this year they will anticipate the influx of female customers.6. Screaming and Tears of Joy
When bid day finally rolls around, you’re likely to hear every sorority girl and new member screaming with joy as they run to their new sisters!
Not to mention the huge wooden letters that most sororities carry around everywhere in case there's a photo op.Happy recruiting, Tribe!
