We were those kids in class who raised our hands when the teachers asked, "Who wants to be a doctor when they grow up?" Who knew we would stick with it and embark on the sleepless journey, full of smiles and hot coffee, known as pre-med?
Here are six signs that you're a pre-med major (nursing majors, I'm talking to you, too, because, one day, we'll all be in scrubs).
1. You already refer to yourself as "Dr. (your name)" and you *ignore* the looks you get.
2. When friends tell you their symptoms, you try to diagnose and treat them.
3. You have words, like "coagulating" and "pericardium," in your daily language.
4. You most likely own your own pair of scrubs.
5. You're worn out. All. Of. The. Time.
6. Even though you're already stressed out enough, you cannot wait until you get to either medical school or nursing clinicals.
So, have no fear, for there are future doctors and nurses here, and we are awaiting our patients. In the meantime, we will continue to watch Grey's Anatomy, House, and Scrubs, while convincing ourselves that this is how medical professionals actually are.
