6 Signs You Might Be Considered Old-Fashioned

Disclaimer: I do not mean "old-fashioned" as in a flower crown paired with a crocheted top, which in some sick twisted way convinces young people that they stepped straight out of 1972 instead of Forever 21. No, I am referring to the kind of old-fashioned behavior I avidly partake in, and why it makes me feel as if I don't belong in generation Y. You might agree with me if...

1. You don’t understand the idea of “talking”… you know, the whole "I like you, but I don’t want to date you.

I am definitely interested in the thought of possibly being with you one day. But, today is not that day, so, for now we will continue to do relationship things, but not actually be in a relationship" thing.

2. You respect authority.

Yes, I know all of you “respect is earned, not given” people are ready to close out of this article, but just know that for some of us, the mere thought of calling our friend’s parents by their first names makes us cringe -- "Mr. and Mrs." always -- no matter how cool they are.

3. You prefer face to face contact as opposed to texting.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good “100” emoji to emphasize my message just as much as the next person, but there are not enough heart eyes in the world that could even compare to actual human eye contact and being in the presence of another.

4. You don’t understand “hooking up” with strangers.

Your friends think you are a prude or weird, but you physically cannot comprehend this phenomenon -- like, wait, what do you mean you don’t even know his or her name?

5. You care about people and things.

Our generation is (unfortunately) obsessed with this "IDGAF" game, a game in which you consistently lose. In fact, you might even forfeit because you don't know how to care.

6. You understand that the most important things in life aren’t things.

Okay, yes, I would love to rock a pair of turtle gray Yeezy Boost 350s, but I know that forming meaningful relationships with my loved ones and being a good person are far more valuable than any material item.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
