The saying goes, "Dogs are a man's best friend." However, anyone who has a dog knows your four legged furry pet always knows how to make your day. They are the most upset when you leave and the most excited when you return. He or she is the only bae you'll ever need.
1. They always know when you're upset.
I know whenever I am upset, my dog finds her way into my room, up to my bed, and is the best cure for any source of stress. Her presence is so comforting and even having her just sitting at the end of my bed, I feel better.
2. Those eyes will melt your heart every time.
The guilt you feel when leaving your dog behind is like no other. The amount of times I questioned bringing my dog to school with me were countless. And when it comes to their mischief, they can get away with just about anything. My dog ripped up an entire couch when we first brought her home and I am pretty sure my dad gave her a treat afterward because he felt bad.
3. They're always up to hang out.
When none of your human friends are around, your pup will always Netflix and chill with you. Whatever you want to do, your dog is always going to be game without any disagreement. They will binge eat with you, watch your favorite TV show or movie, or go for a car ride.
4. The only cuddle-buddy you need.
Although reluctant at times, your furry friend will always be by your side when you need it. He or she may not be able to spoon or throw their arm around you, but petting their fur beats any boy or girl.
5. They'll always agree with you.
Nothing is ever up for discussion because they can't respond! Your dog is your best sounding board and supporter. I have always wondered what my dog is thinking, but maybe some things are better left unsaid.
6. They're your most encouraging workout partner.
Seeing as they need to get outside multiple times a day, nothing says get off your lazy ass like a dog barking at you. Once you are actually outside, you can enjoy the fresh air and some quality time with your pooch.
Someone once told me that your dog's biggest fear is that you are never coming home. I don't know if that is true, but if so it breaks my heart. While being away at college, the thing missed most, besides your bed, is definitely your dog. But don't worry, because as soon as you walk through that door again, you will be greeted with a wagging tail and lots of kisses.
