With spring break coming up and summer right around the corner, vacation is more than a want, it is a need. The cold weather is discouraging and downright disrespectful at this point and you need a getaway; you deserve a break. Get your friends together, dip into your savings account and use these six excuses to plan a shoreline trip ASAP:
1. You deserve a break.
Be honest, school is already over in your mind and summer has started, even though it is far from it and you can't remember the difference between the quadratic equation and the first amendment. You can barely get to your 10:00 AM psych class because you were up all night binge-watching Grey's Anatomy and you need a vacation.
Have no fear, spring break is near and you can binge-watch whatever you want on a beach without feeling guilty the next day. You deserve it.
2. You can never have enough tequila.
I mean, if you ask my friends they might disagree with me on this one but doesn't tequila shots at a little hole in the wall in Costa Rica sound amazing? Some lime and some salt along with the sun, what could go wrong?
Okay but don't blame me if you wake up on the beach with seaweed in your hair the next day and no idea how you got there.
3. Give your body the golden glow it lacks now.
Who doesn't feel prettier when they are tan? I know I do. You look skinnier, even though you have gained ten pounds on vacation, and your teeth look whiter. Also, you aren't paying an obscene amount of money to lay in a tanning bed for twenty minutes to gain a hint of orange, you're getting to soak up the sun somewhere on a beach. A win, win in my book.
4. Use your money on experiences rather than items.
If you weren't using your tip money on a vacation to Mexico, what else would you be using it on? The idea here is that memories are more valuable than anything you could buy.
You won't look back and remember that new pair of shoes you spent your money on, you will remember the time you spent dancing the night away with your best friends in Cabo.
5. You can take all the naps your heart desires.
This is self-explanatory. Who doesn't love naps? If I could nap three times a day between meals, I would. Go to Florida, lay down your beach towel in the sand and sleep. Nobody is going to judge, we get it, we've all been there.
6. Discover the world you have been missing out on.
Even though you don't necessarily want to learn when you are away from school, there is so much to see and absorb out there in this beautiful world. Go out and wander the streets and learn the culture.
Someday you can tell your kids and grandkids about the little old man and his story about how he began selling fruit and met the love of his life.
