6 Reasons Why We LOVE Starbucks

6 Reasons Why We LOVE Starbucks
Costa Rica Gringo
  1. Lets be honest, Starbucks has grown into a huge phenomenon in today's society. We have all heard of the brilliant frappucinos, teas, and lattes that they offer. The Coffee Houses that we know of today were redefined by the Starbucks craze that has been on the rise over the past years. We know that we have all tried Starbucks at some point and there's a couple reasons why we continually drown Starbucks with our love and money...

1. It is modeled after REAL Italian Coffee Houses

As stated in Starbuck's history, In 1983, a decade after Starbucks began in Seattle, Howard Shultz (One of the original founders) took a trip to Italy and was inspired by the amazing coffee houses. He then pitched the idea, and revamped to what we know as Starbucks today.

2. Over 87,000 drink combinations

Starbucks has no problem creating new items, they recently added the mini frappuccino, cookie straws, plus many new flavors every month. There are plenty of combinations to try ranging from just a simple pump of vanilla, raspberry, and sugar to ordering straight off the menu. I would love to meet the individuals who actually counted the number of possible combinations

3. They are the Subway of coffee

We have all heard the order that goes something like "Double Ristretto Venti Nonfat Organic Chocolate Brownie Frappuccino" and they do not question your order, they just write hieroglyphs on the cup and then it comes out in 2-3 minutes. Just like Subway, they make it the way that you want it.

4. They are already everywhere

Starbucks currently has around 22,000 stores worldwide as of March 12, 2015. They are without a doubt the largest Coffee House franchise in the world and they continue to expand. It is said that eventually Starbucks will intend to be in every country in the near future.

5. "Oh it's on the secret menu."

We've all had that snobby moment where we've ordered a Cookies and Cream frappuccino, or a Butterbeer Frappuccino, and have been asked the question "Where did you learn how to do this?" And of course we have replied with "It's on the secret menu that you can find online."

6. Gold Card Members have special treatment.

Lets face it, Gold Card Members are awesome... They have their own gold card, with their name on it. When Starbucks Baristas see it, they have an extra sense of happiness when they take your order. With a free drink of their choice on their birthday with many other benefits, Gold Card members rule the Starbuck's kingdom, and they know it.

But let's face it, Starbucks will always be delicious and we will continually love it. They have a good product, good franchise, and a good concept. Starbucks is doing business right!

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective. The following aren’t foolproof tips and may not apply to you, but I was able to find success with them (hope you do too!)

It is no secret that many American traditions have changed over time. As we grow older we change in so many ways that it only makes sense that we also change the way we celebrate special occasions. Of course when it comes to the holidays there are some family traditions that many of us still excitedly look forward to, whether it is eating your favorite dish or seeing favorite cousin. However, we all know that the holidays have overall changed a little from what they used to be.
