I bet you can ask any football fan what team (other than the Browns) is a complete disgrace to the NFL – and I bet the majority would probably agree that team would be the New York Jets. I mean, this team is a joke! Here are six reasons why it SUCKS to be a New York Jets Fan.
1. They never seem to make the right decisions.
No matter what decisions the organization makes, it never seems to be the right one. From the head coach all the way to the water boy on game day, the Jets are constantly having issues with personnel and the product they put on the field.
2. The Quarterback Situation.
As a Jet fan, we do not know what it is like to have a Peyton or Eli Manning, or an Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. The Jets have never had a franchise Quarterback. (Sorry Joe Namath, I've seen your stats, and they're FAR from elite.) I mean, we had a glimpse of hope for Mark Sanchez--and then he decided to fumble into an ass.
3. The Patriots, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
It does not get any worse than the Patriots. Not only do they win the division every year and have five Super Bowls over the last 14 years, but also, did you know Bill Belichick was the Jets head coach? Yes, for a full 22 hours, until he resigned as head coach of the team on a cocktail napkin.
4. We share a stadium with the Giants.
I don't know how many Jets fans feel about this, but to me, sharing a stadium with the Giants absolutely sucks. First off, when you go to games, the Giants training facility hits you right in the face: the stadium is all gray, and, on top of that, the Giants are a better football team. It just feels as if the Jets is the little brother that gets all the hand-me- down clothes and doesn't get to choose what he actually wants. I mean, it took more than 30 years and a new stadium for the Jets to even get enough respect for a name change. “Giants Stadium, home of the New York Jets …..”
5. Rex Ryan.
One of the best coaches in Jets history, Rex Ryan was a fan favorite and loved by his players--until, he was fired, signed with the Bills out of nowhere, and continued to beat us twice in one year, including week 17 to knock us out of the playoffs. Thank you, Rex.
6. Loving a team that is just simply terrible.
No matter what, you have to be a true fan to love the Jets because they are terrible, so why would anyone just voluntarily say “yeah, I am a Jets fan”? What makes it tough though is the simple fact that you just know the season is over before it even starts. The Jets do absolutely nothing to make a fan believe in them. As a season ticket holder, I like to say to just enjoy tailgating season, because, in all seriousness, that is all you can look forward to as a New York Jets fan.
