I've come to the time of my life when the only reason why I get out of bed in the morning is knowing that later in the day, I'll return to take a nap. I love naps. There's nothing that I would rather be doing than sleeping, and I'm proud life-long advocate of the nap. Whether they be planned naps or spontaneous naps, all naps are amazing. Here are a few reasons why we should all just stop what we are doing and take a nap.
1. Naps are perfect when avoiding responsibility
Whether it be going to school, work, or having to socialize in any capacity, naps are the best way to avoid having to do something that is expected of you. My favorite time to take a nap is when I can feel the pressure of amounting homework against my skull. I just ignore the stress and take a nap instead.
2. Naps prepare you for the long nights you spend completing the homework you ignored while napping
I have a terrible sleep schedule, but instead of attempting to fix it I've accepted the fact that I will take two naps a day and then stay up until 3am doing all the homework I should have been doing while I was napping. I'm destroying my body and I've never been more content.
3. Naps come with the best dreams
I don't know about you, but I always have better dreams when I am napping rather than sleeping at night. I get those sort of dreams where you wake up and it takes your brain about an hour to register what just happened. Yeah, those kind of dreams.
4. There's no better feeling than coming home from class and getting right back into bed
Everyday after my last class, I come back to my dorm, take off my backpack and my pants, and get right into bed for a solid nap. While I'm in class I struggle to think of anything other than the fantastic nap I will take once we are dismissed. I pine for my bed like we are two lovers separated by some devastating war.
5. Being horizontal is far better than being verticle
I don't even feel like I have to explain this one.
6. Who needs friend when you have naps
I'd be a liar if I said that I enjoy hanging out with people more than I enjoy hanging out in my bed. Naps > People.
